What is Junior Gym?
Get your child on the path to a healthy and active lifestyle with Clissold Liesure Centre. We're committed to inspiring a passion for fitness in the next generation and believe it's never too early to start. With our Junior Gym membership, children aged 11-17 can join the gym and attend our fitness classes at allocated time slots. With a variety of activities to choose from, there's something for every level of ability.
Junior Gym
Junior Gym sessions are designed for children aged 11-17 and allow them to workout at designated timeslots. To participate, pre-booking is required either online or through the app. A fitness instructor will be present during the session to provide supervision, guidance, and answer any questions.
Term Time Dates and times available*:
- Monday - Friday 3.30pm-6.30pm
- Saturday and Sunday 2.00pm-6.00pm
Holiday Time Dates and times available*:
- Monday - Friday 10.00am-12.00pm and 3.30pm-6.30pm
- Saturday and Sunday 2.00pm-6.00pm
To ensure the safety of all junior members, we provide a Junior Gym Induction led by a qualified fitness instructor who will show them how to properly use the equipment and perform exercises. All juniors must book this induction prior to their first Junior Gym session.
Junior Fitness Classes
Why not mix up your weekly workout and take part in a Junior Fitness Class that take place in the functional training zone, on the gym floor. Our junior fitness classes are an additional way to get fit in a fun and social environment and take place during the dedicated Junior Gym sessions.
This fun, action-packed session will put our younger members and their friends through their paces, for an all-over workout. Our Fitness Instructors design the classes so juniors get to workout across the dedicated functional area using a variety of equipment and body weight exercises.
Adult & Junior Gym
At Clissold Leisure Centre we understand the importance of family time, especially when it comes to physical activity. That's why we offer the option of Adult and Junior sessions, where any pre-paid adult can bring along a junior aged 11-17 for free.
Not only does this provide a safe and supportive environment for both of you to exercise, but it also offers a unique opportunity for families to take time out and spend quality, active time together.
Swimming
At Better, we believe that swimming should be fun and exciting for all the family. That’s why you’ll find a wide range of fun swim sessions at Clissold Leisure Centre.
Spend some valuable time with family and friends in an active way. These sessions are great fun and allow everyone to splash and swim around, whatever your level of ability.

*Facility access subject to availability, refer to home centre and individual location page for facility listings. Swim Safely Rules apply to swimming pool access. Better Health Junior concessionary membership is limited to off-peak times. Please note gym inductions are mandatory and free of charge for all Better Health Junior memberships. Junior gym sessions are only available from the age of 11 up to the day before their 16th birthday. Please check with your local Better centre for junior gym session times.
