RYA Stage 1 Course - Youth

2 Day course - £159.40 (includes log book & certificate, upon completion of Stage 1) with up to 6 students to 1 instructor.

Adult Courses

RYA Level One

 The Centre has a large fleet of dinghies, suitable for all ages and abilities. Adult courses lead to Royal Yachting Association proficiency awards.

RYA Level 1 Start Sailing

An introduction to the sport, covering the minimum knowledge required to get afloat under supervision.  Course duration: 2 days.

All courses are run by suitably qualified staff. The Centre is recognised by the Royal Yachting Association, the British Canoeing and the Adventure Activity Licensing Service (licence No. R1032). It is inspected regularly to ensure the highest standards of safety and tuition are maintained.

The level one courses are £249. This includes the cost of logbooks and awards as appropriate.

Becoming a competent sailor in light and moderate winds.

Entry requirement: RYA Level 1.

Course duration: 2 days.

Those wishing to practice their new-found skills may wish to join the North London Sailing Association (NLSA) membership is open to anyone who holds an RYA Level 2 or Junior Stage 3. Please see the North London Sailing Association information below.

RYA First Aid

RYA First Aid

This one-day, shorebased course covers all the usual first aid subjects, but from a boating perspective. It is aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, estuaries or on cross channel passages. This course is MCA approved and satisfies the requirements for Coastal Skipper Yachtmaster and Advanced Powerboat certificates of competence and some commercial work afloat.

North London Sailing Association (NLSA)

North London Sailing Association (NLSA)

The NLSA is an association open to all who want to sail. Sailing times are Sundays 11am till 2pm and during British summer time, Tuesdays 6pm till 8pm. While members can simply enjoy a relaxing sail, they also organise informal training sessions and races in which everyone is encouraged to take part, whatever their level of ability.

Use of the boats is included in the membership fee. The only requirements for membership are that you are at least 8 years old and hold RYA Level 2 or Youth Sailing Stage 3 or equivalent.
