SENIOR MEMBERSHIPS

If you're 60 and over, you can get active in our gyms, swimming pools and fitness classes, at a competitive price in Islington.  The Better Health Partnership Senior membership costs £24.00 per month and includes access to all of the Better centres in the borough.  Discounts for other activities such as badminton courts or tennis sessions are also included.  

Alternatively if you would like to try out your local facilities before commiting to monthly payments, we have a Pay as you Go membership available.  The Better Adult Senior membership costs just £7.30 per year and includes discounts for a variety of activities across Islington.

BETTER GET TOGETHER

Come along to our Better Get Together 60+ sessions which are run in partnership with Age UK Islington. From  dominoes, table tennis, short mat bowls, a fitness circuit and Zumba Basics, there's something for everyone. All this for just £2.70 a session. WALKING FOOTBALL

Sobell Leisure Centre is hosting walking football on Fridays from 5-6pm for people aged 50+. Walking football is a slowed down version of the game, ideal for people who want to get fit or maintain an active lifestyle.

FITNESS CLASSES

We have a wide range of classes available at Sobell Leisure Centre.  This includes Zumba Basics on Tuesdays (12.00pm-1pm).  With simpler movements and lower intensity, this Zumba dance class for beginners is perfect for people starting their fitness journey, seniors & anyone looking to build confidence as they return to exercise.  Sessions can be booked online at the link below.  

Tai Chi (Monday 12.15pm-1.15pm) - Learn Tai Chi with a trained instructor who will guide you through the movements and help you build up confidence. This all-abilities class will involve a combination of gentle movements and breathing exercises to give you a full mind and body workout that will have you feeling better inside and out. 

As part of the Better Get Together session we offer a senior circuit with with our fitness instructor in the Boxing Studio.  This is included in the cost of the session (£2.60) and can be paid on card at reception.
