Fitness Classes

Our fitness class timetable will offer something for everyone. Whether you want to burn some serious calories in our brand-new group cycle experience, take a body pump class or fancy a more relaxing workout in our yoga classes; our full list of classes will cater to your every need.

Join a fitness class and you'll reap the following benefits:

  • You'll move more - unlike cycling or running, fitness classes encourage you to move in different directions. Take Zumba, for example, this Latin-inspired dance class includes shaking your hips while moving sideways, backwards, diagonal and more.
  • Better coordination - don't worry if you're not the most coordinated. By joining a fitness class, this will improve over time.
  • Workout everywhere - from your heart to your abs, a fitness class will improve your stamina, heart health, balance agility and more...not to mention help you maintain or lose weight.
  • Maintain bone health - weight-bearing exercises such as squats, lunges, jumping jacks and more can help you keep your bones strong and prevent brittle bone diseases such as osteoporosis.
  • You'll join a community - you'll not be alone and can work towards shared goals with the people you meet.
  • It's a tried and tested formula - if you look back in history, you'll find groups who have exercised together proving it's worth joining in.

What to wear for Yoga & Pilates?

Move comfortably in your Yoga or Pilates class by wearing lightweight clothing that lets you twist, stretch and roll down freely. You’ll want to keep a towel handy and please bring a bottle of water to class with you – you can fill this up for free around the centre.
We'll provide everything else in your Yoga or Pilates class, including mats and workout equipment.

Dance fitness classes allow you to get fit and feel great. These fun, energising group activities are guaranteed to put a smile on your face:

Worried you won't be able to keep up with the steps?

Introducing our Basics classes which take things at a slower pace. Lower impact and incorporating simpler movements, our Basics dance classes are suitable for beginners and those returning to exercise. So you can develop your confidence and get moving at a pace you're comfortable with.

New Group Cycle Zone

Discover a new kind of group cycling experience at the Forest Hill Pools. One that combines music, visual effects, and performance data to create an interactive training that inspires you to move. This isn’t just your normal Group Cycle class! This class highlights key workout metrics to always keep you in your training zone. Follow the colours and on-screen indications, work on your cadence and power, track your performances to monitor your progress ride after ride.


If you can’t make one of our instructor lead Group Cycling classes, we have you covered with our new Virtual Classes. Be challenged by targets, colours and metrics with one of our virtual classes. See your performance live on the screen, so you will always know how you are doing. See your ride come to life right before your eyes. Each rider’s energy helps define the class. Each pedal stroke helps colour the environment. When you ride hard, the rest of the class can sense it in real time. Workout better together!

What are the benefits of group cycling classes?

What are the benefits of group cycling classes?Give indoor cycling a spin and feel all the Better for it. Benefits include:

- Boost your cardio and stamina - group cycling is an ideal way to train for long-distance endurance events as it gets your heart pumping steadily throughout the session

- Builds muscular strength - pick up the pace and turn up the resistance to tone and strengthen your lower body

- For everyone - forget coordination and rhythm or trying to balance on one leg, all you need to do is pedal a stationary bike

-Low-impact - unlike pounding the pavement, cycling is relatively low-impact on your joints. 

What to wear for Group Cycling?

You’ll be working up a sweat so wear comfortable, breathable clothes that are easy to move in – and bring a towel to keep handy. Normal gym trainers are ideal. Or feel free to bring cycling shoes if you have them. Please ensure you have a water bottle with you for class – you can fill this up for free around the centre.
