CRICKET ACTIVITIES AT ABRAHAM MOSS LIBRARY & LEISURE CENTRE

Abraham Moss Library & Leisure Centre is home to the only Urban Cricket Hub in the North of England.

Funded by the English Cricket Board, and activated by delivery partner, the Lancashire Cricket foundation, the hub aims to increase participation and encourage positive social cohesion. The centre will provide accessible and affordable cricket for the local community, brought to life through programmes such as Chance to Shine, Womens Soft Ball Cricket & Community Tapeball Leagues.

CRICKET CAMP

Keep your eyes peeled for our next Cricket Camp!

Come and learn the fundamentals of cricket over the summer holidays!

Sessions will run each day from 10:00 - 14:00 and bookings can be made for individual days at £15.00 

Dates: Monday 12th August & Thursday 15th August

Times: 10:00 - 14:00 daily 

Ages: 5-11 years

Learn the fundamentals of bowling, batting and fielding in a fun and safe environment from our qualified activators. 

No experience necessary as sessions will be tailored to suit all abilities and all equipment is provided. All participants will need to bring is a packed lunch and a refillable drinks bottle.

WALKING CRICKET

Delivered in partnership with the Lancashire Cricket Foundation, walking cricket is a fun, social and welcoming format of the game, played at a slightly slower pace and is ideal for men and women aged 50 plus. It is the perfect way to remain involved with the game and meet new people whilst staying active. 

When: Wednesdays 17:00 - 18:00

CHANCE TO SHINE STREET CRICKET

Chance to Shine are a national charity on a mission to spread the power of cricket through local communities. Our chance to shine street Cricket sessions are a fun and enjoyable way to learn the sport of Cricket. Delivered by fully qualified coaches, participants will be taken through activities for bowling, batting and fielding in a game led environment.

Day: Tuesday

Time: 17:00 - 19:00

WINTER NET HIRE

We are now accepting booking requests for the 2024/2025 winter net season, with availability on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and ad-hoc Sundays.

The hub has four independant full sized cricket lanes, with a purpose built flooring system marked with bowling and batting creases designed to ECB indoor standards which allows for quicker changeovers and much more cricket! 

Single lane hire starts from just £29.70 per single lane & £55.15 for double lane bookings and you can increase the quality of your training with one of our two Bola automatic bowling machines for just £7.00 per session.

To make use of the bowling machines an ECB coach must be present during the session to operate the machine with qualifications shared with the centre prior to the booking being confirmed.
