Free Swimming for Over 60's

Did you know Manchester residents aged 60+ are eligible for our free swimming scheme? That's right! Registering for the MCRactive card enables you to swim for free in swim for fitness, swim for all, swim for women and swim for senior sessions at North City Family & Fitness Centre.

To be eligible for this scheme, the card holder must live in the city of Manchester, paying council tax to Manchester City Council. 

Fitness Classes

We offer a range of low intensity fitness classes suitable for seniors: 

Our Adult Basic Classes combine simpler movements, like stretches and core strengthening exercises. Suitable for beginners and seniors alike, these classes are ideal for those new to fitness or returning to the gym after a break.

 

Better Health Senior Membership

If you’re over 60 and looking to get more active, our Better Health Senior Membership allows you to access our gym, swimming pool, steam room, sauna and fitness classes, all at a competitive price.

At Better, we believe that staying socially active is just as important as staying physically active – at any age. 

And if all that isn’t enough, as Better is a not-for-profit organisation, all proceeds from your membership fees are reinvested right back into your local community, enabling us to make fitness more accessible for everyone.
