Welcome to Woodstock Open Air Pool

Take advantage of the summer months with a dip at Woodstock Open Air Pool. Located not far from Blenheim Palace in West Oxfordshire, Woodstock Open Air Pool is a heated 25m, four-lane pool offering a range of sessions for swim training and leisure. 

With changing rooms, showers and conveniences for customers plus an additional cafe, you can relax and enjoy a swim during the warmer months of the year.

Walk-ins are available but to secure your slot and avoid disappointment, you can now book your swim session via the Woodstock Open Air Pool page on the Better app or online.

It's easy to do for members and non-members alike and you can pre-book up to 7 days in advance.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to book in advance?

Ideally, please book in advance to secure your slot and avoid disappointment. It's easy to book a session. Either go to the Woodstock Open Air Pool page on the Better app or book online. 

How long can I swim for?

You can swim for the length of your swim session (50 minutes). If it's quiet, you may be able to swim for longer but please respect the time during busier days. 

How many sessions can I book a day?

You can book more than one session a day, as long as they are available. 

Can I just turn up?

Walk-ins may be available but to avoid disappointment we advise you to pre-book swim sessions at Woodstock Open Air Pool. 

Is there a café at the centre?

During the cool water swim season we will be offering a small selection of hot drinks and snacks at reception

During the summer holidays, we have partnered with local Social Enterpise Yellow Submarine, who will be operating a full cafe service offering a larger selection of hot & cold food & drink. To find out more about Yellow Submarine follow this link to their website.

What temperature is the water?

During the cool water season we anticipate the water temperature to be between 10-20c. Follow us on instagram to get our daily temperature updates!

Do the sessions still go ahead when it rains?

Yes, swim sessions are still on when it's raining as long as it is safe. In the event of a thunderstorm, however, the pool will need to be closed.

Is there anywhere to change and leave my belongings?

Yes, you'll find male, female and disabled changing rooms, plus lockers for your belongings at Woodstock Open Air Pool. 

How much are the lockers?

Lockers are a £1 coin or token, which is refundable. 

What does it cost to swim?

Costs are as follows: adults, £5.40 for a session, children, £3.60 for a session. 

Can children swim?

Yes, children are welcome in and Swim for All session. Please see the timetable (once available) and choose Swim for All session when you book.

What is the last entrance time?

The last entrance time is at 6:00 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday for a 7:00pm close. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we'll be holding twilight sessions so last entrance will be 7:00pm for a 8:00pm close. At the weekend (Saturday and Sunday), last entrance is at 4:00 pm for a 5:00 pm close. 

Can I hire towels?

Towel hire is not available at Woodstock Open Air Pool.

How can I claim lost property?

Please email Woodstock@GLL.ORG  and the team will get back to you. Alternatively, you can pop into the centre and ask the team.

Do you have swimming hats, goggles to purchase?

Yes, you can purchase swimming items such as goggles, swimming hats and more at reception.

Is parking available and if so, how much does it cost?

Parking is available and free of charge for customers. 

Can you wear a wetsuit in the pool for unheated swimming?

Yes, wetsuits are permitted to be worn during unheated pool Swim for Fitness sessions, provided they are tight fitting enough not to impede your swimming stroke.

Do you hold gender specific sessions?

No, gender-specific sessions are not currently available.
